Hi all,

I have a 9800 Pro 256 MB. Is there a way to tell if I can flash the bios and end up with a 9800 XT?

First off, make sure you can overclock the card to 412 on the clock and 365 on the memory because that is the xt clocks. Next you need to find out what kind of core you have. You have to take off the stock heatsink and wipe the goop away and see if its a r350 or an r360 core. The main thing is being able to overclock the card to those speeds without any artifacts.

Ok, sounds good. Assuming it will overclock to those levels, what is the prognosis if it's a 350 core, or if it's a 360 core?

if its a r360 you should be fine and flash it

if its an r350, you most likely can't
