In need of an SMTP server program...

I have tried free smtp server, but when I try to run it, all that comes up ir an error saying that the DNS or internet is not accessable. I have also tried QK smtp server, but it doesn't want to work with what I need it for, to email the emails that are generated from my message board that I am hosting on that computer.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction here?
