ATI AIW 9000 with busted hsf can it run passively?

the title pretty much states it...
i'll be putting a new fan in but in the meantime any thoughts on whether the gpu will fry if its just got a sink and no fan? oh, yeah its a BBA ATI 9000 AIW. Well thx again in advance!

NOO!!! Dont do it passive style because the HS is too thin.

Ive seen a bunch of them and they are thin as hell they dont disapate heat fast enough without a fan.
