So my BIOS chip is fragged...now what?
I'm running an ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe.
Comp froze during BIOS flash, tech support says I have to send in my chip and have them re-flash it and send it back to me.
This sucks.
My questions are:
1) Can I just make a bootable floppy to start up DOS and then flash it myself? If not, why is the world so cruel?
2) How the #$&^ do I get the BIOS chip off the board without breaking the $%&* out of it? Neither the manual nor the helpful *gufaw* tech support email offered any advice on how to remove the chip - but I must make sure to package it very carefully lest it be broken.
