300fsb

Hey all,
I'm a bit behind on the memory game and after my mushkin frying. i'm going sell my server pc and get another ai7 and wack in a 2.4c. What i want to know is what ram is going to get me close to 300fsb , without buy some pc4800 . Ive heard that adata pumps out some nice numbers, what is the full name of this particular ram?

Sorry for repeating this question, i saw flapper (sorry if thats the wrong name) started a thread about this subject, but i couldn't for the life of my find it.

Cheers

Scott.

I would say your best bet short of buying pc4800 ram is to get some of the OCZ pc4400EL gold ltd. I'm getting some soon and I'll let everyone know how it does

Flapper will have some lower cost idea's for you I'm sure like simpletech or PMI

Thanks for the quick reply, that would be good if you could tell me how that ram holds out. I'm going on holiday in a weeks time, if i don't splash out with money i should have enough to blow on some pc4800, although buying some budget ram and overclocking its ass off will be a whole lot of fun.

Click on the hyperam store and then when you go to order the ram do the free adata ram upgrade and then use the key code hyperam for free USPS shipping.

I have am running 286 with only 2.85 volts (highest in the bios) on my current P4P800. My old one was volt modded and I was giving 3.0 volts to them but was limited by the 2.4C on air at 275. Now I am on water with it and need a droop mod to get higher than 285 but that isn't bad for a stock board. I was able to boot XP with 290 but that was all I could do at 290 was and start Prime95, Super PI and play a DVD and it crashed.

Hooah, thanks Fast420A I'll give that a look. Can you just confirm you didn't just get lucky sticks? . Also with 3.2v and some good cooling, think i stand a chance of hitting 292fsb+? It sounds like it to me . Thanks again.

Edit - At the bottom of the page, its says brand type, i want the adata correct? I won't buy this (or any ram) till i come back from holiday. But this ram is looking rather nice.

Yes, select Adata as the brand option. I know these aren't just lucky sticks because EVERYONE that has them is hitting great speeds.

the komua adata hyperram is a really good deal. but even randy at tech support said the best u can expext is about 295. but the good thing is they are all pretty close in overclocking capability which means u can expect the mid 280's to the mid 290's

Thanks all info is always good. How do they respond to vdimm? does more than 3.0 help? or do they just max out?

yeah i got 310 with 1 256 stick. the other runs about 290. oddly enuff both sticks have the exact same red pcb and comonent layout as the adata. im thinking they are either made to order from adata (2.65volts very low) or they are made by the same comany that builds the adata stuff??. so basically it looks like the simpletech has very stringent requirements and that with the fact that they only put out pc4000 nothing highr, the good stuff alll goes into those stix.. every review got really impressive overclocks at real low voltage. the only one that didnt over at adrian rojakpots. i suspect was probably a marginal stick. i emailed and told him so. he's gonna try testing both individually if he can get em back. i also suggested for a review on the adata hyperram, being everone who buys it, is pretty happy with it..

I would need 2×512MB of something that does at least 292MHz (1:1 with my 2.4C and AI7) in dual channel, what are your recommendations? OCZ PC4800 EL?

As there is no OCZ here in Hungary, seems like I'm getting 2×512MB of original Hyundai D5.

I don't think it goes over ~275, and if I am right, I will buy a good 3.0C and switch to a lower FSB
