Anyone familiar with this mobo and/or manufaturer?

First International Computer Inc.

for short FIC.

Mobo model is FIC AZ11E.

ftp://ftp.fic.com.tw/motherboard/cpu...keta/az11e.pdf

Currently has a 750 mhz t-bird on it.

The link is to a doc from their site. I'm not sure if I understand it correctly so please reply if you could. Does that chart mean that the XP 1800 palamino will operate in this board. The mobo has both 100 and 133 FSB settings along with the ability to change the core voltage and multiplier and I think even some other o/c type settings. I just obtained this board from a friend of mine and I got 2 sticks of 128 MB pc133 in it. The board supports 1.5GB 3x512MB of ram also.

Thanks

Looks like the XP 1800 will fit on the mobo. The last time I saw a chart like that, the mobo had to be set with jumpers instead of in the BIOS.

Not sure about the memory though. Page 2 didn't make it through for some reason.

Hope that helps some.

Do they make that one any more or will I have to dig for it?

Bought an FIC board once. It was for a Cyrix 166+, later replaced with a Pentium 233 w/ MMX.

Decent board. But that was years ago, can't tell you how they are now.

Looking deeper into the mobo switch settings and the bios settings it appears the max multiplier is 12.5, max voltage 1.85, and max FSB is 166. So its got me thinking. Will the ram auto sync with the FSB or does pc133 ram work running async? And I'm also wondering if other CPUs newer than the 1800 will run on this like Tbred 1800 an up. Wait now that I think about it probably not. Because it looks like the 2000 would have a multiplier of 12.5 and its likely why its not listed because that is the max the board has settings for. Anything above that would likely not run at the corrent speeds I'm assuming.

I got another question. Does the cpu temp sensor sense the core or surface? I think if I recall the temp in the bios screen was 25c for the 750 mhz with looks like stock hsf. I'm also wondering in relation to my last post if the durons higher than 1.1 ghz will run. For instance the duron 1.6 that would be runnning default at 133 x 12 right? The FSB listed as 266 (is for the DDR right) cause its really only 133?
