i am thinking of buying the geil golden dragon pc 3500 for
my new rig
a epox 8kda3+ and a amd athlon 64 3000+
i am planning to overclook what do you think?

hey man
im also from israel.
i can tell u the golden dragon are good for their price, but what i realy wanna tell u is to check the 3000+ before u buy it.
find out if they are selling u one with a newcastle core or clawhammer.
if its a clawhammer - check if its CG stepping or C0 stepping.
i bought one long tiem ago and just today found out its C0 stepping.
if u intend on overclocking u should get CG stepping, newcastle or clawhammer, just not C0.
have fun with ur new rig :)

http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/white_papers_and_tech_docs/30430.pdf

in page 6 u can understand how to figure out if its CG or C0.
the code himself should be written on the box of the cpu.
if they are selling u a premade system - just tell them u want a newcastle core and forget to worry about anything.
oh - make them commit on that, by a contract or something.
computer stores in israel arent so reliable. :-/

thanks!
listen i talked to my vendor and he sayed that the only newcastle that they have are socket 939
so i told him to try and get me a cg stepping and listen what do u say should i get a 3200+ or the 3000+?

if u have the extra cash then sure 3200+ .
the 3200+ is a clawhammer with CG stepping AND 1mb catch(not 512kb like 3000+ newcastle/clawhammer).
i think i did a mistake not taking the 3200+...

does the geil golden dragon pc 3500 comes with cooling
and does geil ultra platnium is better than the golden dragon
