As far as I know, all gameboy games are compatible in all systems. The cartridges are all the same.

Yeah, I have a Japanese SP and it can play both Japanese and American games. Every Gameboy has been able to play games from any country.

they are, but some link games wont work together. You cant link the euro version of pokemon ruby with the US one, for example.
