Mushkin mistake?

memory stick to make dual channel. I just recieved them today and one stick is silver and one is purple (heatspreader colors) does that mean that they are not identical?

Hmm, first off, nice ram. I don't think it matters because on mushkins site, if you were to order ram from them it says heatspreaders may vary so i really doubt that they are different ram. Although i think it's kinda dumb that newegg would give you 2 different color sticks of ram, will look pretty stupid in your rig.

Yeah i agree completely but thanks a lot for the clarification, i was worried. Yep, i wished they were both silver hence the name "SILVERjag" lol.

if you wanted matched sticks you should have gotin these http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-146-287&depa=1

since you got 2 sticks that are not a 'matched pair' it could have many different colored heatspreaders

the ram will have the same chips and will work fine even tho they are different colors

Everything will be fine. you might be able to get the same colored heatsinks from mushkin directly
