Let's say you want to watercool your 9800 AIW, but the waterblock won't fit right because the tuner cover is in the way a little. Can you remove the cover without risk? What's it for anyways?

I don't have the card yet, but I will soon enough. I'll go with whatever cooling I can use, but I prefer watercooling since my waterblock is already in the loop.

It's for electrical shielding. I wouldn't remove it.can you just use a shim between your waterblock and the core? how much higher do you need it?

Even if you remove the cover the sides still stick up just as far.

I'll be getting the card late next week probably (paying for it tonight or tomorrow morning), so I can't say exactly what the measurements are going to be yet.

EDIT: nevermind, had to retract :(
