suggestions for video editing and gaming

I'm building a computer for a guy and he wants it both for video editing and games. his main focus is video editing. I want to stay in the $100-$150 range.

I was reading the below threads and you guys suggested the refurb radeon 9700 from newegg for $135. this sounds great, but will it be good for video editing?

I'm building the smb that cmcquistion suggested:

MSI K7D Master
2 AMD 2400+
1GB Samsung PC2700 ECC Reistered
etc...
