Create Far Cry ISO

Does anyone know what program I could use to make an ISO file from my Far Cry cd...I just want to do disk one so i can mount it as a virtual drive and get better load times from my desktop.

Alcohol 120% will make an image, and also has virtual drive software. Otherwise, any cd authoring program should have the ability to make an ISO

Alcohol 120% will do it. So will certain versions of CloneCD.

You can mount the image w/ Alcohol I believe, CloneCD, or Daemon Tools.

i've always used clonecd to make the image and daemon tools to mount it. i've used nero on some occasions and it works fine also. alcohol 120 is something i've been meaning to try but never came around to it. i must be like the only person who doesn't use it or something. hear about it everywhere.

Yeah, but you need virtual drive software like Daemon Tools to play the game. It's basically like tricking the computer into thinking it's running the game from a CD.

I have just about all my games, and other software too, saved as images on a storage drive. Allows for very speedy reinstalls, i also tend to lose things(where IS disk #3? ) . A fixed exe would work, but also as you pointed out, not in MP.

Me too... You can't roll over your storage drive with your computer chair... That's happened once or twice with my game CD's though.

Forgive me if I misunderstood that, but as far as I know, bypassing copy protection is probably against forum rules... might want to remove that from your post.

I would have to agree with David. I don't think I have ever seen a EULA that says that you can modify a program that way. Generally, companies don't even want you nosing around in the exes at all nevermind disabling copy protection -- even on one's own system.

That may be true, but regardless of that, as a public forum, it would be terribly wreckless of us to support any kind of warez. Even if we would not lose the suit, paying for it would be a big problem. That is why the rule is there for no warez discussion, and comments like yours probably shouldn't be made here.

Wrong. Paying for a game doesnt mean you own it. Check the EULA/license that you agreed to when you installed the game.

Do what you want, but this board is not a place to discuss it.
