need video card suggestions

I want a new gen video card, $400 at the max, a little over is fine.. i was looking mostly at the 6800 GT and the X800 pro. I want to be able to play Doom 3 and HL2 so those should do it.. Anyone have any reviews other than the ones on hardocp??
