Hmm, just wondering if you guys think this is decent for a budget computer.

I have built several comps, only a few for gaming. Anyway, I'm a college student, and I don't have money to throw all over the place. However, I wanted to build a computer for gaming.

The criteria was:
It had to be near cutting edge
Had to be Silent (room-mate etc)
Had to be powerfull ( I am a CG artist on the side, thus I need RAM etc )
had to cost less than $800 (cost $720)

So, here's my score. (clickity click) Video Card settings were at "Ballanced".
3dmark 2003 scores

Running omega 2.5.5.1 drivers. Recently built computer.
I want to test it with the official cat drivers but... I'd rather not go through the hassle.

Athlon XP 2500+xp mobile @2,500 mhz (12.5 * 200)
ntec 430 true power
Radeon 9800 pro < ATI w/Arctic Cooler silent exhaust.
Epox 8RDA3I motherboard
2 sticks of kingston valueram in one channel and 1 512 of the same in the other. Dual Channel mode. CAS 3 running at 2.5 (ram is currently my bottleneck).
Antec Soho file server, 5 case fans undervolted for silent operation.
Zalman CU cpu hs/f

Temps 41 cpu 38 case idle 44 cpu 38 case load.

Before A recent hard drive failure I tested 2001 and got 20,000. So, I'll retest that too.

More importantly, the comp runs great. Plays far cry smooth as anything all maxed out.

here are some screens on my backup drive from my 2001 score, but I have to redo the actual test.

Hmm, just soft-modded to a 9800 XT and on air with no aftermarket on the ram, I have it set at 800 mhz... wow.. with a Core speed of 435 mhz... That's a big boost from my original clocks of 430 core 730 ram. Plus whatever boosts the XT gives... We'll see I guess.

Well after soft modding my 2003 score rose to 6,896
My 2001 score seems to have decreased since before the reformat.

It is now 19,038 which isn't bad for default settings on a budget computer.

Any feedback would be appreciated =).
