PSU MOD, clear case and 2nd fan install

I just ordered one of these

http://www.vibecomputers.com/index.c...f=n&vID=191580

They were on 1/2 price super sale for 9.95 cdn, about 7$ US Funds.

I want to know if anyone else has tried this type of PSU cover and what you thought of it. I really wanted it for the 2nd fan as the temp comming out of my PSU always seems low flow and way to warm. Plus with a blue LED fan in the PSU case it should look pretty cool inside my new server case.

See this thread, check the 2nd and 3rd page for what it looks like now.

So anyone else got one of these.

My box of new toys just showed up, so the server is going to be offline for a bit while I hook at all up

Well it is installed, it looks sharpe. I installed it thinking that it would be cool to show it off installed and then realized that the frame bar of the case blocks any good photo angles. I am going to try and get at least a couple of good shots and post them up before tonight.

I imagine it would not be hard to simply cut a larger hole in the plexi to put a 92mm fan in it.

As for install ya it was very easy. The only problem I ran into was in the pics it showed the fan going on the indside. However my heat sinks in my PSU were to large to allow that. So I had to mount it on the outside.

Do you notice any big temp difference in your case with the extra PSU fan?

I was not looking for a case temp drop, what I was looking for was a lower temp of air comming out of my PSU. That I DID GET. The air comming out of my PSU is now cool. It was so hot that it was disturbing. It is just a small 350w generic PSU trying to run that entire tower with 5 hds, the CD Rom, 2x 120mm fans and countless other 80mm fans. The PSU was getting taxed to its limit. This new fan dropped the PSU temps down to make me a much happier person.
