I just got a computer from a friend the thing is that I can't get the sound to work it's as if it's on mute.
I checked everything it checks out as working perfectly and the drivers are fine the problem is when I plug in speakers or headphones nothing comes out.
I checked the volume and it's all raised to the max with the mute off.

Thanx any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you are using the KX drivers, check this one out before going into 'hassle' mode. Every time I install the drivers I do the exact same thing (omg no sound wtf?) Then I go to the control pannel and realize that "reverse front / rear" speakers is set to on by default. Unchecking this fixed the problem.

the soundcard is a soundblaster live ct4830 I tried to switch the speaker setting like you said but I couldn't find it anywhere.

I'm going reinstall the drivers and see what happens.

thanx
