Scored a 16598... http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7993546
It seems kinda low... is the score right for this system? What's holding it back? The card is OCed at 430/370 (I'll flash an 9800XT BIOS once I can find a floppy.) I think it's my value ram.. I'm probably gonna buy another stick though and run them dual channel... (would that even help?) Help please...

It seem low to me...make sure that AA and AF are turned off and that your settings for D3d are fast performance...also turn Fastwrites enable off and also try using MSCONFIG to adjust your start up so that startup programs to start when the system boots. That way nothing is running in the background.

are you sure because other ppl are using dx9 too on their benches and they do fine...

and could it be the Omega drivers holding me back? im gonna try the original ati cats tomorrow to see how it does with that

If you're just going for pure score, also make sure you have V-sync disabled.

3DMark2001SE can only test under a DX 8 interface. It doesn't matter that you have DX 9 installed, the program can't use any of the DX 9 features. You're better off running 3DMark 2003, and comparing that to to what other people are getting with simmilar setups.

well, your only 1000 points higher then me, with your system i might expect about 17-18k. my memory timings are 2-3-3-5 which is fairly good. not sure man... how long has it been since you reformated, how much free memory does your system have? which os you using?

what driver set are you using? i would go download Omega 4.6 cats, since we found out today that the 4.7 are currupt. also once you do that you can change a couple more things, set both d3d and open gl, to best performance. im glad we just brought that up, cause most of my stuff was set to app preference, or to be on high quality... must have been default from when i installed the new driver set.

benched on 3dmark01 again after more tweaking, this seems more like it but i would LOVE to break 20k... maybe when i get another stick of ram and run at dual channel... http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7995666

3dmark03 also improved http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=2827648

Running in dual channel with an AMD CPU may not give you any sort of real gain. I'd turn off AA and AF. That will probably get you a better result, and cost you nothing.

Ummmm, ya it does actually. But I do agree you must have everything set to performance. However the real culprit is the RAM. See my link(s). Im clocked lower, yet I can break 20k no sweat, even with DX9 and Windows 2000. Why?? FSB.
