So i have a 2600+(not mobile or barton), and im ready to upgrade.

ive got an a7n8x motherboard and a gig of pny pc3500 ram on duel channel (running at 205x11 right now)

any suggestions for a new cpu to help get rid of my bottleneck?

Try a mobile. They are so awesome. try a 35w 2400, 45w 2500 or 45w 2600
the 35w 2200 seem like hit and miss.
Maybe a new h/s too. the v9 is alright. i used to use it on my 1800+
good luck.

2200+ are not Bartons, not all XP mobiles overclock great, 2200+ definitely does not.

I'll swap ya my 1800+ for that 2600, and even throw in a few bucks (just kidding) I'd go with a mobile. There are some pretty impressive OC's from them here.

You would probably be looking at about 2.5-2.6GHz for a mobile Barton. 2.7ish at a push. I would say a 500MHz increase isnt really worth all the hassle. If you wanted to upgrade I would go A64 because there isnt really anything that I see a 2.2Ghz Athlon not coping with. Perhaps put the money into a new Vcard?

i bought a 5900xt(pny) for 150 :D

very happy right now. only thing is the ram wont go over 768mhz for some reason

either way i got the cpu to 429 already :D

so any final thoughts about cpu? should i just get a 3200+ and oc it.

i want something with 400mhz fsb

2500+ or 2600+ moble AXP is your best bet for a good OC. The default cpu FSB is not really an important factor.

There is no such thing as a 2200 mobile.

It is a 2400 mobile and it's current stepping is not performing as well as it used to.

I'd highly suggest 2600+ mobile. Best performing mobile ocing chip availiable these days.

I stand corrected.

However if it was any sort of impressive overclocker I'm sure it would be much more popular on this board as well as others.
