I was set on a 9800pro 256Mb. Price $264

Now I see that the 6800NU is out and about for $285

What should I buy. I am currently waiting to hear as I am at newegg With everything in the cart except a G-card.

Thanks

System specs would help, but for the most part the 6800nu is a better card than the 9800 pro. I was in the exact same situation you were, and I went with the 6800. Games play great and I couldn't be happier with it. Just my 2 cents tho.

thanks for the quick replys. I am leaning toward the 6800. Just curious why it is so cheap. by the way the system its for is:
AMD64 3200+ Newcastle
Epox 8KDA3+
1024 Adata PC4000
WD Raptor 74GB SATA

Yeah, for that system, definitly get the 6800. It might not be as fast as the GT or the x800 pro, but it is quite a bit faster than the 9800 pro. Why go with old technology when you can get the new one for almost the same price. $20 is nothing for the performance gain. 6800 is a much better choice than the 9800. For your system, the 9800 will be a small bottleneck. 6800 all the way!

Agreed.

The reason the 6800nu is so much cheaper than the GT or Ultra, is that it only has 12 pipelines active instead of the 16 the GT and Ultra have. Also, it is running at a slower clock speeds.

Ive been searching around for a 6800GT to look at prices. Seems that last month you could get great deals on them now they are a lot higher in price. Bummer.

Looks like the chaintech version of the 6800 has beefed up core and memory speed. Guess ill try that one. Newegg has it for 325.00
