The most interesting part is that AMD is planning on offering both 1000MHz boost on both the regular and enhanced FX series CPUs from launch. From what I understand, there is to be 2-3 different flavours at launch with two more newbies in October.

Athlon64 3600+ 2.20GHz 1000MHz HT 512KB L2
Athlon64 3800+ 2.40GHz 1000MHz HT 512KB L2
Athlon64 FX-53 2.40GHz 1000MHz HT 1MB L2
-----As of October-----
Athlon64 4000+ 2.60GHz 1000MHz HT 512KB L2
Athlon64 FX-55 2.60GHz 1000MHz HT 1MB L2
-----Future Possible Overclocking Champ-----
Athlon64 3400+ 2.0GHz 1000MHz HT 512KB L2???

I added that last one hence I can totally see AMD making this chip.

As you can notice, AMD is so far not adjusting the PR names of the CPUs for some odd reason. Notice the Athlon64 3600+, it's basically a good excuse to avoid the FX-51 CPU which is now being faded out of the market. EDIT: I also forgot to add that I wouldnt doubt that AMD add's full support for DDR500 memory as well.

From the looks of it, AMD will play dirty on slowly fading out the 800MHz HT CPUs in favour for the 1000MHz versions. Both VIA's K8T800 Pro and nVidia's nForce3 Ultra support the 1GHz hyper transport.

I cant wait to see the results people will get from overclocking these things.

Prob be the same as the regualar 800mhz ones. I can get mine to 1300mhz or 2600HTT

how much, and what kind of difference do you notice in gaming and/or benchmarks in between 800, 1300?

Also, say one would buy a 3200 A64 and a nf3 250gb board, would that person be able to later upgrade to, say a 3800+ or 4000+ with higher HT? I am not saying that it is a smart upgrade choice, just seeing future compatibility issues.

i have few things that i don get. the 1600mhz bus thing, it is only for fx edition right? and how the heck do u make it go 1600 when the ram at running at 200mhz (400mhz ddr). Intel has the quad pump thing to make 200mhz to 800mhz. i don get how to achieve 1600mhz. is there special ram that need to be purcahsed?

i think they have a higher HT multiplier

now to amd, I am realy begining to think that AMD will realy start to Intel's *** all over the place, they are using a very aggessive technology advancment scheme, thus they are beging to leave intel in their dust, I mean look at the porblems Intel is having! its getting realy bad for intel! i am realy happy that AMD's A64 Line is realy taking off and doing damn good to!

HyperTransport Tech is spec'd at 1600Mhz both way, 800Mhz to and 800Mhz from the cpu and other components linked to the HT 'tunnel'. I believe you're confusing HT with the usual and traditional FSB of last generation cpu's. HT is not just for the FX, its a feature of the whole new K8 (Hammer) architecture, ie: Opteron, Athlon64 and FX. HT is not bound by your ram speed, be it 333DDR or 400DDR, you can use both and the HT data path is still 800Mhz in each direction (800x2=1600). Using 1600 as a figure to denote HT bandwidth is just another convenient and effective way for marketing purposes.
