Would clc seti run faster if it was on a partition with nothing else on it?

Highly unlikely it would produce any measurable benefit, if anything at all. Best thing to do us just keep your disk defragmented.

Well I havent finished a wu with clc yet but ill tell you it is faster. The P3 500 at work is faster than my K63 450@ 500 at home.

I have a duron 800 but just need to get a mobo for it, then OC it and crunch on.

yep.. I have done MUCH experimenting.... the parition is NOT going make ANY difference... in fact, once you get background programs turned off, OS mods will not help either...

As Tim suggested.. defrag every so often... shut down completely once a week...

I also double check power management occasionally & have resorted to the BIOS to do my most effective tweaking...
