I was wondering if the PCI-X standard that was being used in server motherboards (64 bit PCI-X 133/100) is the same as the PCI-Express video cards that are coming out now, and if they are compatible.
Thanks

Code:
Standard Bandwidth
-------------------- -----------
PCI 33 MHz 32-bit .. 133 MB/sec
PCI 33 MHz 64-bit .. 266 MB/sec
PCI 66 MHz 64-bit .. 533 MB/sec
PCI-X 66 Mhz ....... 533 MB/sec
PCI-X 100 Mhz ...... 800 MB/sec
PCI-X 133 MHz ...... 1060 MB/sec
PCI-X 266 MHz ...... 2130 MB/sec
PCI-X 533 Mhz ...... 4260 MB/sec
PCI-Express X1 ..... 500 MB/sec
PCI-Express X4 ..... 2000 MB/sec
PCI-Express X8 ..... 4000 MB/sec
PCI-Express X16 .... 8000 MB/sec

that clears things up for me. because i was asked one of these questions and i tought that either they are the same thing or PCI-X doesn't exist. lol. LIve and learn .

This would make great sticky with MisterEd's information - many people always put PCI-X / PCIx in post refering to PCIe and i dunno, just one of those things that annoys me..lol
