XP CD-ROM issues

didnt see that but sometimes i put in a cd and it will not read from the cdrom is acts like its still empty and i gott put the disk in the CDR drive?? i bout to go back to 2000pro

I've gotten that a couple of times but only with cd-r's that I had burned and only in my dvd drive if I put them in the CD-RW no problem.

Anyone know whats up with that?

This problem happened after I tried to install Direct-CD, I have since found out it is not comaptable. But during the install Roxio puts 2 entries in the registry that causes this problem. I have deleted these files and all is good.
