Can't Get Console Up For Doom 3

Hi,

I cant seem to get the console up for doom 3 to type in cheats.

It says the ~ key, ive tried it and all others but nothing brings up the console.

Any Ideas?

There are already several threads about doom3... all doom 3 discussion is to be conducted within existing threads. Otherwise the first page of the games forum is nothing except doom 3....

I'm curious, why does it say just the ~ key on cheat sites then??
