yea... i wanna know... is the 754 any good for overclocking right now? everything is crashing down on me.... i dont know where to go about the a64's... i mean i wanna grab one... i heard the 939's didnt really turn out as good as supposed... but then again i wanna wait to find an amazing overclocker like the one i got.. or like the tbred bs were.... now im looking to wait for 939 90nm... aparently they are planning to reach some really high clock speeds with those 90nm's.... would it be worth it to wait for that to come out and see wats cookin then? then again... its gonna be expensive as all hell tho.... ugh! im tired of waiting!! haha plus the videocard situation aint lookin good... i cant stand playing a game knowing im only getting 40 fps!! (doom 3) hahah even on only high graphics at 1280x1024... i still dont like that idea haha

so wat do you guys all think abotu this? my cpu at 2.5ghz should beable to hold out for a while still i suppose... but i want something differant!! a change haha

My 2800+ CG Stepping seems nice

Hi got bored and did not want to fork out the cash for a 939 system, so i went and got a 754..

AMD64 2800+ 1.8Ghz CG stepping (Zalmans 7000cu HSF)
ABIT KV8 Pro rev1.1 board with a working AGP/PCI lock
2 x 512MB Corsair 3200c2Pro ram (went over board here I think)
XpertVision 9800se vid
80GB Maxtor HDD (IDE) 7200rpm 2mb cache
120 Seagate HDD (Sata) 7200 8mb cache
Antec 350wat smart PSU
etc etc etc

This is what I got it all to run at.

AMD64 2800+ @ 2.4Ghz (9x267FSB -HTT600 @800+) could not get the system stable at 800 or 1Ghz stock). When overclocked the 600HTT runs at 800+ (1.65volts)

RAM is at 218mhz (436mhz) Cas2.5 3 3 6, 2.70 volts

XpertVision 9800se Softmodded to pro Core 412/ Mem 351.

So in short the 2800+ is a very good overclocker for me..

3DMark03 - 6169 (Could be better)
Aquamark3 - 45,589

Lets put it this way.. it is faster than my P42.4C@3.0Ghz and the same setup as above. Not by much but it is..

CPU $231 Australian (AUS), so about $160 to $170US
Board $156AUS
RAM $360AUS

So if you dont need new ram then it is a cheap upgrade..

no on a64 there is an LDT(chipset) multiplier "HTT600" means 3xLDT multiplier because 3x200(stock)=600htt. but he is running 267x3LDT(bios calls it 600htt)=800htt

well it is always better to run 1:1 because it yields the best performance, but the ram ratios on a64 do not cause instability problems like they did on NFII, and VIA socket A chipsets.....
