Hi everybody, first post here, looks like a great place.
Anyway, enough of the grovelling, let me quickly say I'm not a PC "expert", but I'm not a complete novice (so I should be able to do most things that you tell me!). My system :
Asus A7N8X-VM/400 Motherboard
Athlon XP3200+
1GB DDR RAM PC3200
Radeon 9600XT 128MB (Sapphire)
80 GB HD
250W PSU
Most of this system I built myself, upgrading my old PC, which was a 1.6Pentium. The M/B, CPU, RAM, Graphics card were all new, but the PSU and the hard drive are the originals.
My problem is with the graphics card it seems. I occasionally get a VPU Recover error message come up. This can be at any time, sometimes playing intensive games, other times just browsing the web. I looked up this problem, and someone suggested a different set of drivers. I installed the Catalyst 3.9's (I think!), and all seemed well. But while playing a game I got a VPU error again, and this time, instead of just being able to carry on with the game, like I did before, it told me that it was unable to recover and had gone into software mode, and I would need to restart the PC.
I'm not sure whether this is a conflict with the drivers or something, but what I'm more worried about it my power supply. I'm pretty sure it's not good enough for my system, am I right?
If so, can you reccomend a new one? If it helps I generally like to buy my parts from www.ebuyer.com (british version of the site).
Cheers for your help.
