Hey folks, :D

Couple of things I would like to ask.

I have a qtec 550w power supply, basically is it any good?

Secondly I have bought a new cover for it, see through uv plastic, is it a fairly simple job to take of the cover and replace it? Can I go wrong or cause any problems?

Any guidance would be appreciated

thanks

It isn't very hard to replace the cover, just a few screws and that's it.But,I wouldn't do it if the PSU is under warranty. If you remove the cover's seal you will lose your warranty.

Don't use regular acrylic because it's one of the most flammable plastics. There is such a thing as fire retardant acrylic, but you should be able to get by with regular polycarbonate.

But do you really want to be able to see the insides of a Q-tec? It's built like a 200W PSU.
