Thumbs up Call of Duty: United Offensive

I just got back from Quakecon and all I can say is WOW. Not only does this game have better graphics, but multiplayer is AWSOME!!! I am sorry I didn't take any pics, but I didn't bring a camera. I will take one with me and make sure and take pics and I will post it up here.

I want to be the gunner in the bomber so bad, I just hope it doesn't get shafted by Fable and HL2.

Is COD any good? I've almost picked it up SO many times, but just didnt know enough about it to really want to risk wasting my money. I did like Medal Of Honor, and BF1942... Is it anything similar? Or Better?

I think it's better then MOH and BF1942. The gfx are ok in the first COD and game play is fun.

Yeah the gameplay rocks, graphics are definitely dated, specially after you play some of the more recent stuff... I still can't wait for the new one.

It's better than Medal of Honor, I've played through it two or three times now and have been addicted to the AWESOME multiplayer for months! The graphics are loads better than either MoH or BF1942, even if it can't compare to D3/Far Cry. The single player and multiplayer maps are both top notch, go buy it NOW!

It's along the lines of Medal of Honor, only better in my opinion. Very polished and well put together. The Russian missions are very similar to the movie Enemy at the Gates...very cool. Graphics are very good and very atmospheric. You really feel like you're in the middle of a battle. The sound is fantastic as well. You should definately pick it up. I've played it through on the first 3 difficulty levels and my only complaint is that it's too short. That's why I'm glad they're making an expansion pack.

Problem with this is that the graphics are so dated compared to Doom 3 and FarCry that it will really hurt the expanison no matter how good its gameplay is. I dont think expansions work well with anything other than MMORPG, RTS and the Sims. With FPS they could invest a little more work and make it a standalone game and they would make more money off it.

They could incorporate better graphics and update the old game's graphics, much like Half-Life Blue Shift's high definition pack, which upgraded graphics for all of the Half-Life games.

I hope someone will come up with a fix for the online bug with Pubkbuster and NF3 (or the A64's).. it freezes for like 3 seconds at a time every two minutes or so. really annoying when you try to cap a german.

What's wierd is that it does not do it in BF:V, which also uses punkbuster. Anyway, I just hope somehing will be done by the time this comeso out.

Im home. I have a bunch of pictures of the game. I will post them up tonight. They are a bit blurry, but that is because I didn't want to use flash and disrupt anyone's gameplay.
