Well, as I have already purchased the card, this q is actually more aimed at the games. As I'm waiting with a major upgrade on my system till BTX and Pciexpress are solid on the market, I decided to buy a FX5700 ultra to upgrade on my ti4400.
Its not that big of an upgrade, but enough to give me a fairly good Doom 3 experience (not great, but okayish) And ultimately very cheap.
Anyways, I've got a ton of games on my shelves, and was wondering in which other games I would be able to boost the quality of the graphics? Yeah I know, all, but I'm talking more in the senses "here you'll get loads of extra eye candy... I'm thinking "ti4400 was DX8, 5700U is DX9, so some games ought to get some extra detail. (I'm not talking FPS, but detail)
Of the games I have in mind are:
Morrowind
Unreal 2K4 (really hoping this one will grow a lot)
Sim City 4 (incl. rush hour)
Freelancer (getting this oldie back down if 5700 makes a difference)
X2 - The Threat (should be DX9, no?)
Anyways, hoping for the expert gamer to comment on the change..
Just to sum up the rest of my system, 2.8 prescott, 1 gig og kingston, the usual 5,1 onboard audio (doom 3 certainly screams for surround sound doesn't it?)
Cheers and thanks in advance, Flix
