Hyperthreading prob fixed - fyi

I recently upgraded from a northy to a presscott ( my name is scott! )
and couldnt figure out why my computer would lock / reboot every time ht was enabled.
I read some posts by a guy who had to replace his cpu and got scared.
Anyhow, I realized it would ALWAYS act up when starting a game OR on the sound test portion of 3dmark03.
I thought what the hell and swapped out my 3 year old philips 5.1 sound card for a sblive I got from a machine I upgraded and my probs went away.
My best guess is that the old driver on my soundcard caused ht hiccups.
Just something for everyone to try if they have ht probs!

Interesting.

I had something similiar happen to me recently. My system was very unstable, sometimes it would not even power on. Other times it would be running fine and cool and then it would simply crash. After several hours of troubleshooting, I finally concluded that the problem was the........floppy drive. Yes, the floppy. It must have been defective and causing some problems w/ the PSU or MB.
