I'm currently a subscriber with Charter communications. I'd like to be able to record some football games this year, and transfer them to DVD for archiving. I've read about this a little, but I'm just not certain the approach I should take to get the best result.
1. A lot of the games I want to record will be pay-per-view. This means that I'm going to have to go through my cable box first, right?
2. I have a digital cable subscription, but my cable box appears to be a PoS. I only use the Co-Ax connector to my TV... I simply have digital cable for PPV and HBO.
3. I'd prefer to record to standard DVD format, not some file that requires funky codec.
4. I know that there are some Tivo hacks out there... but I'm concerned that this won't do much for me, since a good amount of the programming I want will be PPV.
Thoughts/suggestions?
Thanks!
