Ati has a solution to nvidia's 6600gt

could it be the x700xt vs. 6600gt? both have the same 500/1000 clocks and 8 pipes with 128 bit ram being most likey too. Prices are $200-229 too. Sentinel, read this especially. remember I told you I might get a 6600gt? well looks like the x700xt(or whatever ati calls it) could be just as tempting. I wonder how this will compare with 9800pro/xt too. The 500MHz core is very nice and with .11u I bet a good one could hit 600MHz but if its 128 bit ram, itll be so bandwith limited that the 9800pro is likley to be ahead starting at 1024x768 and up. I am not buying the x700xt or 6600gt to run like 800x600

for that price u might aswell just get a 9800pro. I dont think theres anyway the x700 will be keeping up with a 9800pro if they are the specs when it comes out

Overclocker550,

first, welcome back...sorry, I've been meaning to say that for a long time.

yeah, get a saphire 9800pro...new from newegg.
(stop trying bogus crap from ebay)

you can't beat it for the price, and you know it works great in shader rich games like farcry.
seems it does better the the 6800nu in the HL2 stress tests too. (for a $100 cheaper)

good luck

mica
