not much power, looks to be about the same quality as the Z340's, but higher price due to the better finish.

what price are you getting them for?

heh, the z-340's suck and are out of production, BUT the new X-220's are pretty decent and are only 40 bucks shipped from newegg. I have them and they are better then most 2.1 comp speakers, but it all depends on how much you want to spend, i mean if you are willing to spend lotsa, then by all means go all out! like go for the Klipsch Promedia 2.1's, or go for the Logitech Z-2200, they have the exact same sub and satalites as the z-680's but are just 2.1, I realy like them alot!

Yes, I'm probably getting them, but my question wasn't answered yet: are they good speakers and do they sound well????

(Hopefully they will still be in stock by tomorow, because of the great deal they may go very fast.)

BTW, are they good for listening to music?? (I mostly listen to Pink Floyd, Uriah Heep, etc.)

well they are brand new to market, so i doubt many people have heard them so your question may not be answered before you order them.

in my opinion no. take a good hard look at them. now look at what you consider a good home theater speaker. do they look similar? now tell me how they look differently and why.

I don't think you can compare a 2.1 system to a home theatre system, because home theatres are atleast 5.1

he was comparing the single z3 speaker to a single home theater speaker not the whole outfit.

what he's trying to show you is the driver size and quality is just not there. for 33 bucks they aren't terrible. i have a set of z340's i used a while ago. they are pretty basic and don't hold a candle to my current setup nor my headphones, but they reproduce sound decently and loudly. if you just need it to make sound these will do a good job. if you want a good audio experience you'll need to rethink your plan.

i think you missed my point. ill rephrase it. "find a good stereo speaker." what does it look like? what kind of qualities does it have?

now why do you lower your standards for a GOOD speaker when i put the word "computer" into the mix?

I'm in total agreement there.I mean,I have some cheap bookshelf speakers from radio shack that kill any pc speaker I've heard.
