I'm trying to figure something out.
In system 1. I have a [email protected] with 2x512 3200 and a 9800XT
In system 2. I have a [email protected] with 1x512 3200 and a 6800GT
I have Doom installed on both rigs. And I've been playing it on Rig 2. and I run it at High quality with Sync ON and AA x2 at 1280x1024 and it runs decently. Although I get a slow start effect whenever it first loads up, meaning that the screen is jumpy for about 10 seconds.
I have running Rig 1. in Doom with the exact same settings as Rig 2. and It loads up faster, it doesn't have the jumpy start, and it runs just as smoothly as Rig 2. Seeing as how I am scoring around 12.3-12.5 in 3dmark03 with the 6800GT in Rig 2. I don't think the problem is the video card. Could the Rig 2. be the problem of why the game won't run better than on Rig 1.? I'm Just not seeing any improvement over my 9800xt system in Doom3. What do you guys think? I'm going to be putting the GT into a Dual channel 2x512 [email protected] system next week.
