After the cheapo motherboard which didnt let me choose clock multiplier and only let me have 1ghz of my duron packed up yesturday, i aquired a nice asus azv8x-x for free!
anyway, besides it being generally a much better motherboard, it is quite easy to overclock.
i have choosen a 15x multiplier and 133 fsb (266 ddr i suppose..) which gave me 1.99ghz.
the cpu was running at about 50c after doing this, is it wise to proceed any further with just a bog standard coolermaster rated to 3200......

thanks for help!

Id try a lower multi and try a higher FSB and see where you get with that.

othere than that you have a very nice clock with that Duron 1.4 , im sister had one that topped at 1.55Ghz.

that 50c is that idle or load , i wouldn't let it get to far over 50

Goodluck with it , just got to find out what the best setting for your chip

ive been wondering...
ive just ordered 512mb of pc3500 kingston ("turbo") ram.
would i get better performance to lower the multiplier and raise the fsb, giving the same overall speed?
