theres a post somewhere around here for less than $100. Lots of people bill boo hoo you for wanting cheap WC, but i did mine for $90 ish, but i want to add more to it. like a gpu cooler.

if you are gonna watercool, you might as well get some decent equipment. it would suck to do all that work and ends up having worse temps than you had on air...

just shelling out a bunch of money doesnt mean yoiur gonna get good temps. Just like shelling out $4000 for an alienware doesnt mean its the ultimate gaming machine.

MY temps are currently the same as they were on air at idle, and much much better on load...for about the same as i paid for the air setup....and my TIM hasnt settled in yet, nor is my airflow setup. (open case, nearly passive rad)

i guess its just a preference thing for me then. if i'm going to do all that work, i might as well get some nice blocks, pump, and rad.
my rig before was usually 38/53. but when i was done, my case is always at ambient, and the cpu is 5c above that at load (currently 23/27). i try to tell myself the $$$ was worth it and i couldn't get that with a $100 dollar setup

Aquastealth is probably the best place for budget watercooling, althogh their blocks aren't that great.

my main interest in my wc setup is to be able to sleep next to my rig. I'm a light sleeper, so it has to be quiet...my temps are pretty bad right now, but i dont have even airflow over my rad...and my other internals have no airflow whatsoever...i gotta finish this sometime. i'm somewhat happy with my setup, i'd be a-lot happyer if i could find my ASC, this stupid shin etsu whatever is horrid. (came with a xeon heatsink i bought for no reason...but hey, it was $5...and allll copper)

This is as cheap as I could find, and it all happened to be at Dtek, so you do save on shipping from buying from lots of different places. I suppose you don't need a reservoir, but it does make filling/bleeding easier and because there's more water to heat up, the system doesn't heat up as fast.

TC-4 Waterblock - $25.00
Via Aqua 1300 pump - $22.99
120mm Radiator (unpainted) - $29.99
1/2" Clearflex tubing
Sanyo Denki 120mm 102cfm 39dba fans - $5.00

Yes, you could save a few dollars by getting a car heatercore instead of a radiator. It might even perform slightly better. But then you have to get barbs that fit and making a shroud is more difficult.

Yes, Tygon tubing is better than Clearflex, but it's twice as expensive and out of stock.

I'd link to a reservoir since D-Tek is out of stock on ALL of them it seems, but it's not entirely essential. You could potentially make do with a T fitting.

And the fans are great. Best fan you could ever buy. Solidly built and quiet. To quote Boris the Blade aka Boris the Bullet-dodger:

"Weight is sign of reliability...if it doesn't work, you can always hit him with it."

So figure about $100 + shipping. Not bad at all.

the tc-4 has been out of stock there or ages, and its $15 to ship it here...i found one like it at www.case-mod.com called hte "black top wb" for $20, and $1 shipping. allot like the tc-4.
77 bonniville heatercore would perform alllllot better than that, and you dont have to make barbs for it...just cut the pipes back and they are 1/2" barbs. (it was $21 here, usually about $17 in the states)

i've heard allot of bad things about that pump, but around here if its less than $40 youll hear bad things about it. personally i'm running a maxijey, but i wouldnt get a maxijet unless you want to run it submerged.

Well, the poly top is in stock, or you could upgrade to a Swiftech MCW6000. And that was the cheapest pump I could find with decent specs. I'd go with a Mag 2 or Mag 3 if at all possible.

I higly recomend the C-System 750 Pump from dtek. 35$, DC, hell it plugs into a fan header. You will love it. its so small. I will post a picture of my setup with it.

Even if you could get it (they're out of stock everywhere), the C-Systems pump isn't anywhere near as powerful as the Mag 3 for $38.

D-Tek has plenty. Also a Mag 3 is over kill for a single block system. I don't understand why everyone needs these huge head/flow rate pumps for 1-2 block systems. I use it in my system, and get great temps. under 40 Full load on my A64@2.5GHZ 1.65volts. Using Dtek WW, Caprie heatercore 2 120 70CFM fans, and a T-Line.

No I am not saying you have lost your mind. But ppl always recomend high flow pumps and never look at this little gem

It's not that high flow. I'd sooner buy a Mag 3 and leak proof it. More power for less dough.
