Big production increase by Murfster!

I've been in Murfster's rear view mirror for a little while now, and he was just a handfull of days away from being passed. But somehow, he has pulled off a substantial increase in his Seti Crunching Power.

I don't know how you did it Murfster, but Great Job.

/me now goes in search of parts to boost production (any suggestions on ways to keep the wife from noticing?)

Thanks! (I feel kinda bad now with the Gmail and all) ... I cranked up the 8-way again ( http://www.ocforums.com/showpost.php...&postcount=225 ). Now I really do have to figure out how to load up SETI CLI and hide it on my wifes new AMD 3400+/64. I'm with you eaglescouter. How do we get the CLI stuff installed running hidden?

Bye bye murfster, I'll not be catching you anytime soon, but will enjoy watching your progress, blaze a wide trail cause I'll still be behind you.

Yup, this is my personal test box HP DL740 with 20GB RAM (15 useable ... the other 5 is redundent hot plug RAID memory).
I know it's overkill, but the opportunity presented itself to utilize it (legally) and I did. It's fun as hell!

anyway, if you are running under some sort of windows, SETIHide will do the trick for you to hide the client.

Sweet, I just snuck it on my wifes new AMD box. Wonder how long I'll get away with it. Thanks!

Just that one box does roughly 100 WU's per day. I can't OC ... yet. I'm working with a couple of HP SE's to see what we can juice it up to. I'm not very optimistic, but we'll see.

... oh ... and this new news: I got my hands on a HP DL585 with 4 x Opteron 848 processors and 8GB RAM. I'm going to benchmark it against the DL740 8-way (different tests, but I'll do SETI against it eventually). I'll post results.

Hrmmmm, why dont I see murfster on the stat's page for the Seti team? Did he that 8 way opteron HT server pull so much power that he created a black hole?
