HP scanjet 3200c driver

I have a scanjet 3200c and I can't make it work. I have went to hp site and downloaded the new drivers and it still says
it can't find the scanner, yes it's on and pluged in. I did what hp said,unplug,turn off computer etc. Still can't find scanner
running xp pro sp2

Are these the XP drivers you're trying to install?...

THANKS for replying so quick. Yes HP says they have downloaded drivers for xp. I find them but my scanner can't be seen. If I have to buy a new scanner, do you have any recommendations. It might be that I just don't know how to activate them because I'm new to xp pro.
