EDIT: I think it's illegal. Not so illegal I wouldn't do it if I needed something, but illegal nontheless. I doubt it's a scam at all. The last thing they would EVER want is the BBB snooping around.

You're going to get Adobe Photoshop on a cd that says Memorex and your serial number is going to be printed on a plain sheet of paper.

AFAIK, OEM software is supposed to get registered just the same as retail software. They don't want you to register it because they are giving the same cd key out to everyone.
