My Geforce 6800 GT is retarded. I had to reformat because the tech guys at my school ****ed up my computer because they are worthless, fat, kiddy porn addicted clown wenises. My games and computer in general are also slower.

I was getting around 72k aquamarks before on regular aquamark 3 score on the regular quality setting. I am now getting around 42k aquamarks on the same settings. 30k aquamarks seem to have magically disappeared, so did the one grand or so I spent building my new comp. I have an AMD64 3200+, Geforce 6800 GT, Samsung 172x, 1 gig GEIL Value RAM, and an Epox8kd3aj mobo. Everything is unoced and back to stock.

Now seriously, what the fudge? All drivers are updated.

hmmm, we'll need more info than that. What MB are you using? Latest bios? Latest chipset drivers? Did you check to make sure its not running in agp 2x? What kind of HD's power etc.

They didnt happen to remove any components did they? :>

Reset the CMOS then customize the bios again.

It'd be worth checking the graphics card drivers; right click on the desktop > properties > settings tab > advanced > then look for information regarding if it's using Anti Aliasing and/or Anisotropic Filtering, or v-sync or something, they will reduce performance markedly.

I already checked that and turned them all off before. It did nothing and here's why. I found the problem. I have a Samsung 172x running at the 75hz standard.

I know hz means nothing on LCDs but it is limiting my framerates in Aquamark 3. I can only get 75 frames per second running at 75 hz. The monitor only runs at 60 hz and 75 hz.

Any solutions? Would it affect my image quality at all if I put it past 75 hz (above its intended refresh rate.) To my knowledge, hz means nothing on LCDs.

I have the monitor drivers on there, I don't know why it would limit my FPS. I'm going to put it up to 100 hz now and test it. Let me know if there is any down side to raising the refresh rate above its standard please. Thanks.

Edit: okay, I just tried 85 hz and 100 hz and its still capping at 75 FPS. I lowered it to the 60 hz option and it capped at 60 FPS. What the fudge, seriously? It's a Samsung 172x LCD. I was told that LCDs don't cap on FPS. I want my $500.00 back, Newegg. LCDs suck my wenis.

Is there any way to get around this fruity cap? Raising the refresh rate above the standard does not work.

blah, just disable vsync... i only disable it for benchmarking since in real gameplay it might make your screen to flicker... In short disable for benchies and enable for gameplay

When you have vsync enabled does it try to sync to the screen mhz? If so and its running slower than that, what does it sync to?

VSYNC syncs each frame with the refresh rate. If you are unable to keep up with the refresh rate then it forces itself to the next lowest number that your refresh rate is a multiple of so it still stays synched. So if your refresh rate is 60 hz and you have vsync on and your frame rate dips below 60 fps your frame rate will now go to 30 fps. One of the major disadvantages of vsync.

Probably those guys use your computer to surf porn and got some kind of virus running it the back ground. Did you get pop-up windows also????

Try using some anti-virus and adaware to clean up your harddrive.
