USB 2.0 vs. 1394 Firewire

Hey guys - another question. Im looking to either get an external hard drive or an internal hard drive awith an exclosure. Im wondering if usb 2.0 or 1394 is faster fo rsomething like that. any input helps!! Thanks!!

Firewire is considered faster for more sustained transfers and such. But USB is more universal for computers out there.

I benchmarked my ME-720U2F enclosure on my USB2.0 port and Firewire port. The Firewire almost doubled the USB2.0 connection in read speed; I've since remained connected via the 1394 port.
