FSB x Multi, vcore
Memory, vdimm
Motherboard

I'm having a crappy time oc'ing mine. I got the gig of PQI's 2-2-2-5 memory, 2600 mobile processor, and an MSI K7N2 Delta-L motherboard. Memory's now running @ 2-2-2-11 at 2.6, cpu's at 200 fsb x 11 multi @ 1.65 vcore, and yet to know if it's prime stable or not. If I try anything else, it either freezes upon loading the desktop or something else. List in order on what I should do:
Work on upping the fsb
Work on mem timings
" " voltage
Increase multi on processor
Increase vcore

Because increasing my vcore, even at small steps, while being very high wont boot the system.

Anything??

I have:

XP-M 2600+ IQYHA 0352MPMW
12.5x200=2.5GHz (current) 1.65v
12.5x210=2.625GHz 1.725v-1.75v (been this far for test, may go higher)
Buffalo PC3200 CH-5
Asus A7N8X-Deluxe 2.0

i cant get my mem timings any lower :( and when i higher my fsb and lower my multi its unstable but all in all a good oc :D

i just can't oc mine like your guys! does "burning in" help oc'ing for later? cause i'm thinking about loading bios defaults, tourture testing with prime, and burn-in with si-soft for 24 hours, and if it works, crank up the oc some more.

2500+ usually @ 166x15= 2500mhz 1.75 vcore but since its still hot in cali i have it at 166x14=2338mhz 1.65vcore

i have not messed with any other settings like timing or vdimm

Mobile 2600- 240*10 @ 1.8V right now ( I'm sure the vcore can go down, but I'm still raising the fsb)
Memory: Kingston VR pc3200 BT D43 , 2.6V 3-4-4-11
Board: Abit NF7-S w/ vdd volt mod/ mosfets sinked/ NB lapped: vdd is 1.9V now, but I'm shooting for 2V.

mobile 2500+: 200x12.5 @ 1.75V (i've got really obstinate ram)
memory: kingston hyperx pc3200 (2-3-2-11) @ 2.6V
mobo: abit nf7-s rev. 2 with L12

See my sig. Your CPU should get you at least 2.5 (200 x 12.5). I have the XP-2600 Mobile and I am able to hit 2.6 Ghz (208 x 12.5). What may be holding you back is memory. What are your settings? Try 1:1 and what ever the MFG spec is for timing.

I am not familiar with the MSI board you have. Are they know to be good overclockers?

MSI Nforce 2 boards are not great overclockers but they are really solid. Lack of vdimm will hurt, but you may be able to make up for that. I did with my Abit vs DFI. I would just go a head & max out your vdimm on that board. I believe the vcore is only up to 1.8 or 1.85. Not sure if it under or over volts, probably under a tad.

What are your temps though? Just slowly raise the vcore & watch the temps as you do. MSI's built in temp sensor is known to be off so......I'd at least start by raising vcore to 1.7 & vdimm to max.

Running cheap ddr333 @ 218*11 2.4Ghz @ 1.75.. my max mhz is 225 with my ram, can run it @ 2.6 with better cooling

2500+ Mobile IQYHA 0408RPMW

just got this installed yesterday, messing around with OC'ing..

Last night ran at 12.5 x 200 = 2.5ghz 1.75v IDLE 34c Load 39c Prime95 Stable 10hrs..

Just upped it to 12.5x210 2.636ghz 1.75v IDLE 35c no test on Prime95 yet..

200x13=2.6ghz at 1.8v, vdimm is at default mobo is an NF7-S, my mem wont' go much higher but I got a gig coming tomorrow I hope that will help. I can't tell if it is prime stable since I didn't run it but I can play Battlefield 1942 without crashing (it may not mean much to you but it will always crash if the cpu is unstable, with me at least), I'm sure that's not all it will do but I'm affraid to raise the vcore because of previous bad experience.

i have the pqi 2-2-2-5 2x512 modules. I think it may be the motherboard holding me back. It's been a solid one, but I would like to get high fsb! What's the best XP / XP Mobile board out there now? I read a LOT of Abit NF-7's, but doesn't that REQUIRE the mod to the processor? If not the NF-7, what next?

current settings are:
2-3-3-11 memory,
2.6 vdimm (i'll max it to 2.7, just heard pqi's don't perform as well with 2.7 but might as well)
166 fsb
12.5 multi
1.6 vcore

Today i got my new XP-M 2600+ IQYHA 0433 EPMW

15x207 @ 3.1 ghz  1,98 vcore
Mushkin bh6 @ 207mhz 11-2-2-2
Abit nf7-s rev2.0
OCZ powerstream 520
Mach2@r507 -54 degree celsius stressed/-63 idle

I'm still searching for the optimal settings, but i think this baby can hit 3.2 ghz

OMG! Nice overclocking!! Your temps confuse me (idle and load). Are you on air cool?

182 x 13.5, 1.85v
512mb ddr333 @ ddr364, 2.9v
NF7-S v2
i used to be able to hit 2.6+, but my performance seems to be slowly degrading, im pretty sure my chip is dying from when it got turned on when the WC system was off, and overheated at a high vcore. this is the first chip i really oced so i experimented a LOT, and now it seems to be steadily degrading...soon it wont be stable at stock i guess, by then i plan to get an a64 soon though, and i could probably RMA it, but that might not be right...

I ran a hot stepping tualeron 1.2 at 1.6 on a BX133 before. Just spent under $300 at newegg on a mobile 2600, NF7S v2, 256x2 PDP DDR400 (the 2-3-2-5 stuff).

So Im messing around with it today, its cool to be able to mess with the multiplier. I havent touched memory timings yet or scaling up or down the FSB, but I have'r up to 200x12 right now at only 1.675v.

Fun stuff.

Its all in the sig. My voltage maxes out at 1.825 without mods. I can hit just over 2.65 with max voltage.
