at default setting's none. with a registered copy you can adjust all the test parameters. ie.aa/af/res to see how well it doe's at higher setting's. plus other assorted feature's.
Its come to the point now on current video cards that 3dmark2001 is more or less a cpu benchmark and nothing more. Hardly the best test of overall performance.
2K1 is a better system benchmark since the video card makes almost no difference, but 2K3/2K5 is a better video card (or modern game) benchmark since the video card makes almost ALL the difference.
...but what that has to do with the scores between Free and Registered '05 is beyond me
There should be no difference in the scores you recieve between the two versions, only the amount of tests you can (or can't) do, and the settings you can (or can't) run them at.
Also, registered allows fun stuff like looping, turning of and on specific tests and what not. the turning off and on part is useful if you are trying to OC your video card and are checking for artifacts in one test. Sometimes one test will cause artifacts when others don't. It's annoying on the free 3d marks to have to wait 10 minutes or so everytime to get to the test you really wanted to see in the first place.
