Yuriman said:I dont have any benchmarks, but I believe splinter cell runs much faster on my 9700. I get a solid 64fps with 16x AF on, dropping to 63ish when there is lots of stuff on screen. I think I got in the 40's before.

Anyone with benchmarks able to determine if Omega's is better than Cat's?

At 2T, two different AA patterns are used in alternating sequence. The patterns of 2T work like this:
Frame one: pattern "A"
Frame two: pattern "B"
Frame three: pattern "A"
Frame four: pattern "B"
Frame five: pattern "A"
At 3T, three different AA patterns are used in sequential method. The patterns of 3T work like this:
Frame one: pattern "A"
Frame two: pattern "B"
Frame three: pattern "C"
Frame four: pattern "A"
Frame five: pattern "B"
There's basically no framerate difference between 2T and 3T. However ,because of the multiple pattern changes, you need a higher framerate to use 3T without noticeable edge-flickering. 2T usually needs a framerate around 50-60FPS to look perfectly smooth; 3T usually needs a framerate around 75-90FPS to look perfectly smooth.
3T is really only good currently for much older games that were almost completely fillrate bound. A great example is the original Unreal series; play Unreal at 1600x1200x32 at 16xAF and 4xAA/3T = pretty damned good looking for such an old-assed game
