Is the 128bit 9800 a viable option now

Now I know that there is no comparison between the 9800pro 256bit and the 9800np 128bit. However, I see people are still buying alot of the 9600XT's. Where I live the 9600XT is still ~$200CND and the 9800np just dropped to $180. Let's compare the two.
9600XT core 500, 4 pipelines
9800np core 380, 8 pipelines and it does more work clock for clock

Both have memory speeds of ~ 300Mhz.
Both have 128bit memory bus path.
For the prices quoted above, both have 128Mb of memory.

Now that the price of the 9800np has dropped to below 9600XT levels, when previously they were well above, what do you guys think? It's $20 cheaper and the performance should at least match if not surpass that of the 9600XT.

I believe the 9800np has like a 50/50 chance of being flashed to a pro and maybe even xt.... I'd take my chances with the non-pro.

As far as I know, the 9800np can't be softmodded. Just to clarify, this isn't the 9800SE which has 128bit memory bus and 4 pipelines that might be softmodded to an 8 pipeline card. This card has 128bit memory bus and already has the 8 pipelines opened by default.

I'm just shuffling cards around a little. I have two rigs.

P4 3.0C at 3.6 with a radeon 9100 @ 290/240
AMD 2500+ Barton @ 2.34 with onboard video

I had a 9500np with 256bit memory, but it died prematurely in a modding incident. The 9800np 128bit would go into the P4 and the 9100 would go into the AMD.
