I've been using ati tool and I currenty have my old 64 mg 7500 at 333 core and 823 mem.... How can I hit 823 mem????????? is that even possible??? no artifacts while running ati.... I could even go higher in tool ithout artifacts....

Ran 3dmark 2001se at 6334....

your mem may be running at 412 and the tool just computes it in ddr form. we both know it's not going at 823.

I actually atarted tool at default of 230 and in 3 sessions ran it to 823...I don't think ati tool computes it in ddr..

Sounds Logical to me. My 9800 Pro cant even do 823 mem without artifacts :).
Sounds logical to me as well, but it ran from 230 to 823, all the way up using find max mem tool, and I don't think it stops calculating one way and begins to calculate in ddr while you are in the midle of testing..

Also.. radlinker reads it the same...
333/823.5...

I used to have a 7500 too. It was locked from the factory. I could change the settings in Radlinker and they would stay, but it made no difference in the performance at all. I would benchmark at stock and then with the memorry at like 800. If your card is like mine, the benchmarks will be exactly the same.

That was what I was figuring was happening...
Although the core DOES change, as I can get it to 333, but anything over causes artifacts, suggesting that it is changing.. Im going to 3dmark at stock 290/230, then at 333/230 and then at 333/1000 just to be sure memory is locked as I figured...
an odd thing though is that i'd change setings in ati tool, and radlinker still read the settings as changed..

OK.. finished testing..
290 core/ 230 mem.... 3dmark 2001se=5614
333/230= 6173
333/823= 6338
anything above 400 or 500 or so gets the same 3dmark score roughly.. anywhere between 6334 and 6342
so the test results would suggest that the settings are not locked for either core or memory, and that overclocking the card actually does make a difference...
I would like to get some theories on why there is no benifit after a certain point with the mem, and why I can set it to pretty much anything..(i had it set to 1350 wih no artifacting) without errors...
