do you think that the 35 watt 2400 has more ability than the 2500 45 watt?

Yes they do. People have been getting well above 2.4 GHz on air. Some people have gotten up to 2.7GHz. I've never seen a dothan in a desktop system and as far as I know, I don't think there is any support for them on the desktop platforms.

If you want to overclock this cpu in a desktop system, get a XP mobile 2600+, these are the best performing (best steppings) moblie bartons afaik. 99$ at newegg, but It is worth it. If this is too much I'd get the 2400+ 35W.If you take a look around you'll find many o/c results with different mobile XPs.
For a laptop, I'd take the 2400+ 35W cpu

btw. I've got the impression, that my post is the first real answer to the question..Graphicism: how should your answer be of any help? Its question in return, with some more than uninteresting (to the question posed) figures below..or I didn't get what you wanted to say.No offense here, but only answer to threads, when you post is an answer...

Yeah I would say get the 45 watt too. I have a 35 watt 2400+, but it doesn't oc to well. I'm pushing it really hard to get it to 2.4, but it's at 1.93V now.

I think the 2600+ mobiles gives you better results.

Definetly go with the 2600 if high OC is your goal. Im at 2.6 Ghz (12 x 220) without anything fancy, cores only at 1.825v, air cooling. In fact Id say the 2600 I have would probably break 2.7-2.8 range on water....

id say the 25s 2400 are the best outa the mobiles people have got them to 3ghz

35w 2400+ so bad?

1st ly i thought 1.35v would bring more potential OC
but since u got ur experienced, i will target 2600+

which batch best? some 0351 MPMW???

25s 2400? First of all, what are you talking about? Second, hardly anyone is getting 3GHz on a mobile without extreme cooling and at the very least a very good water system. When you say "people" are getting 3GHz, who are you talking about? I'd like to see some screenies of 2600m at 3Ghz, no less a 2400.....

i have a 45w 2500M doing 2.5GHz with 2.6GHz appearing possible with a clean format and 2.8GHz doable on water.

ok here is my two cents the 35W runs at 1.35Vcore the 45W at 1.45Vcore so does the 2500+, do you thing you need more then 0.1V to catchup with 2500+ speed, I think not. but possible a 2600+ will get you a higher OC but it's always randomé
