Post your X800 Pro DOOM3 Timedemo!
Wanted to check to see if my system is running okay. there is a nice bunch of timedemos at this thread: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=326508 but people did not always enter what drivers and settings they used which makes their data worthless. So I tried to be specific. Anyway could you post your results for (feel free to post other x800 card results, clocked or not, other resolution, and other opengl settings, but i am more interested in the settings below):
1.
1024x768x32 with 0x AA, 8x AF, Vsync disabled. High Quality.
I am getting 70.4 With the fix @ stock clock
And 58 Without the fix @ stock clock
2.
1024x768x32 with 2x AA, 8x AF, Vsync disabled. High quality.
I am getting 61.2 With the fix @ stock clock
And 49.5 Without the fix @stock clock
3.
1024x768x32 with 4x AA, 8x AF, Vsync disabled. High quality.
I am getting 44.4 with the fix @ stock clock
And 37 Without the fix @ stock clock
I know doom 3 threads are controversial, but I'm using this like a benchmark, and this might help other people identify issues with their x800 pro. If it's a big deal feel free to delete. I am using catalyst 4.9, and the doom 3 performance fix found here: http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14874 but I want to see if it actually works.
the easiest way to apply that, I have found:
1. install winrar: www.rarlabs.com
2. open the doom 3 performance fix (http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14874) and extract it so just the "interaction.vfp" file is sitting on the desktop.
3. now go to your doom 3 directory called "base" and open the "pak000.pk4" with winrar and open the "glprogs" folder. now drag the .vfp file you put onto your desktop into that window and hit "ok" to let it replace the old one and update the .pk4 file. It takes a long time because the file is very large.
And to remind yopu guys, to run the timedemo1, you run D3, and at that main screen or within a game hit "ctrl alt ~" where ~ is that key under "Esc". then type in "timedemo demo1 usecache" without quotes and hit enter. I really appreciate the help guys! thank you for posting your x800pro results!
Anyway I have looked around and i didn't find any instructions on how to do this, but this is the way that worked best for me. Thanks!
