Abit AA8 BIOS issues

I'm having the most difficult time with my AA8 DuraMAX (latest BIOS 15).
The CPU is watercooled, temps are low at 27C CPU, 29C SYS, 18C Room/Case Ambient (Danger Den TDX, Hydor L-45 (925Gph), Double heater core, 2x12mm/92CFM Sunon's, 1/2" tubing. Both side-panels removed from case.
P4 530
Abit AA8
ATI X800 XT (default)
Corsair PRO54000 (675MHz) 1024MB DIMM's 1,3
OCZ PowerStream 420ADJ (all rails steadfast)

Although I'm at 240FSB at present, I can only attain this speed by leaving PCIe frequency on Auto, and DDR ratio on Auto.

In so far as voltages, raising or lowering hasn't been the issue. The issue seems to reside in the PCIe, and or MCH bus, or divider's etc. Most sites reviewing this board have attained 265FSB and higher. However I cannot even attain 245FSB. The chip I'm using easily did 250FSB in an MSI 915G Combo mobo and at default Vcore. Both DDR2 kits I have ran at 600MHz in the DDR533 mode. The Abit has a DDR600 2:3 mode, and the memory is currently Corsair Platinum PRO5400 (675MHz), and I have Kingston Hyper-X5400 as well. Some BIOS options are as follows;
CPU = 240FSB (at present)
NB Boot Strap = PSB800/PSB533/CPU (PSB800)
DDR = Auto/DDR400 1:1/DDR533 3:4/DDR600 2:3
PCIe = Auto/from 50MHz to 250Mhz (I tried locking or setting it at 100Mhz to no avail, although on the MSI this was fine)
PCI 33MHz/etc.

Should the PCIe be on V1.0 or V1.0a?
Should MAXVal be Enabled, or Disabled? (Directions say Disabled)
Should Game Acceleration be Enabled or Disabled? (I've had it on both, but leave it Enabled)

Voltages are all fine, I gave the CPU (P4 530) a little extra, although it booted and ran stable at 250FSB (3750MHz) on the MSI at Default.

NB goes to 2.0V, however raising it didn't have an effect, it's currently on Auto.

[B]I wonder of part of the probelm may be the option to adjust PCIe Voltage is absent? Although this seems to be the [Inorm[/I] for PCIe boards. Does anyone have any suggestions for this board? Something I'm missing?

My goal is to have more control over NB Boot Strap, DDR ratio (would like to set it at DDR600 2:3) and of course reach 4GHz, hehe, but at least 255FSB if it's in the chip. Since it'll run to 3750MHz at default vcore (250FSB) it probably has 267FSB (4.0GHz) in it with some additional Vcore.

odd you should get at least 250fsb and the PCIE bus should not be a problem since you have an ATI card that should run out of spec no prob.

Yes I agree, the lack of Memory adjustments (not in the BIOS but when I try to use them) is frustrating. I have both Hyper-X5400 and TWIN2X5400, yet can't do all that much with them. However; the Corsair is beginning to show some bandwidth promise. At 240FSB or 925QDR I'm getting 5920MB/s. I'm always happy past the 6GB/s mark.

As you can see from my Sig. I had better luck with the MSI 915G Combo, which was a surprisingly excellent Overclocig platform! It went to 2.40V on DDR-II, 3.30V on DDR, 1.8V on NB-V, but was weak at 1.50Vcore. Stil it had as many if not more BIOS tweaks then the Abit!!!!! I belaive it had PCIe voltage, but I just traded it away. Hmm, goes to show you can't alway's judge a board by it's review?
