hp -modified MB

I'm putting togther some extra parts for another PC and I found a HP pavilion which contains a ASUS-made a7n8x-la MB. There is no OC'ing potential with the bios and I was hoping to erase all evidence of HP and replace the bios with the equiv ASUS-site bios. Is this possible?

Hp has been usng Asus boards for years...
I would try to flash the bios and get a good board going, but back up your original BIOS.
Also be prepared to Hot Fash the Bios back if you have problems
